IT Services provides the Microsoft Exchange integrated email and calendaring service for all faculty and staff.

Get Your UARK Account

You need a UARK username and password for email. Activate your UARK account with PASSweb. For more information, see New Account. Faculty and staff may request additional UARK service accounts using the Account ID Request form.

Exchange

IT Services is in the process of moving all faculty and staff from UA Mail to Microsoft Exchange, the official university integrated email and calendaring system. New faculty and staff automatically receive Exchange mailboxes when they activate their UARK accounts. Exchange features include email calendar invites, scheduling views for multiple calendars, shared calendars, and a minimum 1 GB quota.

Faculty and staff migrating to Exchange can activate their mailboxes by submitting the Exchange Mailbox Request. You will receive an email verifying that your Exchange account has been created, and your UARK email will be delivered to your new Exchange mailbox. When moving from UA Mail, contact your Tech Partner to migrate your old email to Exchange. If you do not have a Tech Partner, call the IT Services Help Desk at 575-2905 or use AskIT to request support online.

To request a quota increase, complete the Quota Increase Form.

Use Exchange

IT Services supports Microsoft Outlook for Windows and Mac, available to faculty and staff working in units that participate in the Microsoft Campus Agreement. When on campus, Outlook will automatically discover your required email settings. Off campus, you may be required to configure manually. IT Services also supports Exchange on OS X Mail, iPhone, iPad, and some Android devices.

Outlook Web Access (OWA) is the official web-based access for Exchange and is available for Exchange users who do not work in units participating in the Microsoft Campus Agreement. OWA is available on any platform through any web browser at exchange.uark.edu.

Submit an Exchange Photo

Faculty and staff can submit photos to appear with their user information displayed in Microsoft Outlook and other programs supporting Exchange services. Submit your photo using the Exchange Photo Submission form. Departments can also use the submission form to submit multiple user photos in a ZIP file. To have your Exchange photo removed, create an AskIT case.  

Get Exchange Support

For Exchange support, first contact your Tech Partner. If you do not have a Tech Partner, call the IT Services Help Desk at 575-2905 or use AskIT to request support online.

UA Mail

UA Mail, which will soon be retired, is web-based and can be used with any web browser. Log in at uamail.uark.edu. For more information, see the UA Mail Tech Article.

Alternative Accounts

To avoid an interruption in general email access, faculty and staff are encouraged to maintain, in addition to their UARK mailboxes, personal off-campus email accounts. UARK email access is contingent on employment, and messages saved on your UARK email account will be purged when you leave the university. For more information, see Leaving the University.
