Need more network ports? Adding unmanaged network switches will cause problems for your desk phone and other devices.  If your office needs additional network ports, IT Services will install a managed network switch. To get started, submit a Network Request ticket.

IT Services recommends newer desk phone models that are fully compatible with Teams, however, the current legacy desk phones will continue to function with some limitations.

Purchase Desk Phones

Note: Budgeting and purchasing of these devices is the responsibility of the individual department or unit.
AudioCodes IP Phones are purchased through the Tech Store by submitting purchase request in Workday.

Headsets

Note: Any headset with a microphone should work for making and receiving VoIP phone calls. Work with your local IT support team to ensure your preferred headset is compatible.

Instead of having a desk phone, you can use a compatible headset with your laptop, desktop and/or mobile devices to place calls using Teams. IT Services recommends the Jabra EVOLVE. Learn more about Jabra for Microsoft Teams.

Legacy Desk Phones

Most faculty and staff with desk phones have the AudioCodes 405HD (standard phone) and 445HD (admin phone) models. These phones were initially provided when Skype for Business was the default app for VoIP, but they will continue to work with some limitations after the migration to Teams.

The following How Tos only apply to using the legacy desk phones:
