UARK Gmail is the official student email. You will receive important messages and announcements from university officials, faculty, and others through your University of Arkansas email. Check this mailbox frequently.

Get Your UARK Account

To log into UARK Gmail, you will need your UARK username and password. If you have not already done so, activate your UARK account at Password Manager. For more information, see New Account.

UARK Gmail is available at email.uark.edu using your UARK username and password.

About UARK Gmail

Your UARK Gmail address is username@email.uark.edu. You also have access to Google Calendar, Drive, and Talk. While Google continues to refine its products to ensure full ADA compliance, however, students cannot be required to use these features.

Your email quota is 25 GB, and the attached file size limit is 20 MB.

Be aware, to log out of UARK Gmail, you must quit your browser.

UARK Gmail cannot be bookmarked from the login screen. Use http://email.uark.edu to create a UARK Gmail bookmark. Once the bookmark has been created, go to Organize Bookmarks or Favorites in your browser and change Address/URL to http://email.uark.edu.

The UA Directory address book is not currently available in UARK Gmail. To search for university email addresses, go to the UA Directory in your web browser.

Setting Up UARK Gmail

You can set up your UARK Gmail mailbox in a desktop email application or on a mobile device. However, to do so, you must first create a Mobile/IMAP password for UARK Gmail in Password Manager. To keep your UARK password secure, this password cannot be the same as your regular UARK password used to access your web-based UARK Gmail, Blackboard, UA Secure wireless, and other university services. Alternate Exchange Mailbox

Some students might be required to request an Exchange mailbox in addition to UARK Gmail. Students using Exchange receive email sent to username@uark.edu in their Exchange mailbox, and receive email sent to username@email.uark.edu in their UARK Gmail mailbox.

The following includes students who may be required to use Exchange:

Teaching or graduate assistants with access to class rosters and other student information (required)
Students working with export-controlled data (required)
Students requesting ADA accommodation
Students working at the university part time (when required by supervisor)

Complete the Exchange Mailbox Request to create your Exchange mailbox. Approval from other campus offices will be required for students requesting ADA accommodation and students working with export-controlled data, requiring up to five business days.
