The University of Arkansas provides students, faculty, and staff up to 10 MB of weblog or web publishing space on the university's WordPress server. WordPress is a free, open source, standards-compliant, personal publishing platform.To get started, go to wordpress.uark.edu and click Log in under the Meta heading. Sign in using your UARK username and password. Your weblog will be automatically created at wordpress.uark.edu/username. Official, university-sanctioned organizations can send a request through AskIT for a customized WordPress uark.edu web address.
Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) can create WordPress blogs using their RSO username and password. An RSO can request a username and password through the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement's RSO Email and Website Request form.
RSO WordPress requirements include:
- RSO WordPress sites must include the text of the following disclaimer (a link is not sufficient) on the home page, as stated in the Code of Computing Practices, Section III, H, 2, "These materials are not endorsed, approved, sponsored, or provided by or on behalf of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville."
- RSO WordPress sites may not use any version of the registered Razorback or university logos.
- RSO WordPress sites may refer to themselves as "RSOname at the University of Arkansas" but not "University of Arkansas RSOname."
- All content posted on an RSO WordPress site must be posted using the RSO username and password.
