MAC Filters

MAC filters are used to make sure that the correct PXE booting options are sent to the correct clients in campus buildings occupied by multiple departments with local IT support.

All changes to records in Infoblox go through a workflow approval process to ensure data integrity.

Adding a Record to MAC Filters

  1. Log into Infoblox at https://ipam.uark.edu with your UARK username and password.
    Note: VPN is required for accessing Infoblox, even when on campus.
  2. Click the Data Management tab.
  3. Click the DHCP tab, then click IPv4 Filters.
  4. Select the name of the MAC filter and click the Add button.
  5. Use the wizard to walk you through the process.
    Note: Fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
  6. Click Save & Close and then provide a comment in the dialog box. This gives additional information to the individual handling workflow approvals and is a required field.

Deleting a Record from MAC Filters

  1. Log into Infoblox at https://ipam.uark.edu with your UARK username and password.
    Note: VPN is required for accessing Infoblox, even when on campus.
  2. Click the Data Management tab.
  3. Click the DHCP tab, then click IPv4 Filters.
  4. Select the name of the MAC filter you wish to manage.
  5. Select the record to be deleted, then click Delete.
  6. Click Save & Close and then provide a comment in the dialog box. This gives additional information to the individual handling workflow approvals and is a required field.
