Listserv Settings

Use the Listserv Subscriber’s Corner to view and manage your subscribed mailing lists. You will be asked to create a password the first time you use Subscriber’s Corner. Click Settings next to a list name for options, including unsubscribe.

Subscribe or Unsubscribe

Use the Mailing List Search to find University of Arkansas hosted lists and subscribe or unsubscribe.

You can also subscribe and unsubscribe using email commands:

  1. Log into the email account that will be subscribed (or unsubscribed) to the list.
  2. Open a new message and remove any text, including your signature line.
  3. In the To field, enter "listserv@listserv.uark.edu." Leave the Subject line blank.
  4. If you wish to subscribe, enter "subscribe listname fullname" in the body of the email. If you wish to unsubscribe, enter "signoff listname fullname" in the body of the email.
    Note: Replace "listname" with the name of the Listserv mailing list, for example, "subscribe UARKList Jane Smith." 
  5. Send the message.

Update Listserv Password

To change your Listserv password:

  1. Go to the Listserv Subscriber's Corner.
  2. Click Log in at the top right.
  3. Click Change Password.
    Note: If you are already logged in, click Log Out at the top right of the title bar. From the login screen, click Change Password.

If you do not remember your old password, use the Register Listserv Password screen.

Receive a Copy of Your Own Post

Choose to receive a copy of your own posts to a list using the Subscriber's Corner:

  1. Log into the Listserv Subscriber's Corner.
  2. Click Settings next to the list name. 
  3. In the Acknowledgements section, select the radio button "Receive copy of own postings." 
  4. Click Update Options.

Choose to receive a copy of your own posts to a list using an email command:

  1. Log into the email account that is subscribed to the list.
  2. Open a new message and remove any text, including your signature line.
  3. In the To field, enter "listserv@listserv.uark.edu." Leave the Subject line blank.
  4. In the body of the email, enter "set listname repro." If you wish to stop receiving your own posts, enter "set listname norepro" in the body of the email.
    Note: Replace "listname" with the name of the Listserv mailing list, for example, "set UARKList repro."

Digest Subscriptions

Digest subscriptions allow you to receive one message daily containing all posts to the list from that day. To receive messages in digest form:

  1. Go to the Listserv Subscriber's Corner.

  2. Click Settings next to the list name.
  3. In the Subscription Type section, select a Digest option for the list. 
  4. Click the Update Options button.

You can also change your digest settings using email commands:

  1. Log into the email account that is subscribed to the list.
  2. Open a new message and remove any text, including your Signature line.
  3. In the To field, enter "listserv@listserv.uark.edu." Leave the Subject line blank.
  4. In the body of the email, enter "set listname digest."
    Note: Replace "listname" with the name of the Listserv mailing list, for example, "set UARKList digest."

Manage Your Lists

Listserv owners can change mailing list settings using the List Management Dashboard. For detailed information on managing a mailing list, see the List Owner's Manual.

To create a new mailing list, complete the Listserv Request form.

Delete a Mailing List

Create a request at askit.uark.edu with the name of the list to be deleted. Only the Listserv administrator can delete a mailing list.

Delete Archives

By default, archives are sorted by month. A mailing list owner does not have authorization to delete archives. Should you wish to delete some or all archives for a mailing list, create a request at askit.uark.edu including the name of the list and which archives should be deleted.

Manage List Subscribers

Manage your Listserv's subscribers using the List Management Dashboard. Click the List Management drop-down menu in the top left, and select Subscriber Management for options. If you own multiple mailing lists, use the Select List drop-down menu and click the list you want to modify.

  • To add a new subscriber, enter their email address and full name in the "Add New Subscriber" section and click Add.
  • To look up and/or remove a subscriber, enter their email address in the Examine or Delete Subscription section and click Search.
  • Click In Browser or By Email next to "Review List Members" at the bottom of the screen to view a list of subscribers.

Change List Ownership

Add or remove mailing list owners.

  1. Click the List Management drop-down menu in the top left, mouse-over List Configuration and select "List Configuration Tasks."
  2. If you own multiple mailing lists, use the Select List drop-down menu and click the list you want to modify.
  3. Click the Administrators tab.
  4. In the top dialog box of the Owner section, enter or remove owners. Owners can be added using the following format: username@uark.edu (Full Name)
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
