UARK Wi-Fi Windows Setup
Windows 10
- Open the Start Menu and click Settings.
- Click "Network & Internet" and select UARK Wi-Fi.
- Click Connect.
Troubleshooting note: If you are experiencing problems connecting, remove the connection and create a new one. To remove the connection:
- Open the Start menu and click Settings.
- Click the "Network & Internet" icon. Click "Manage Wi-Fi settings."
- Select the wireless network and click Forget.
To create a new connection, click Add and continue with the steps above starting at step 2.
Windows 8
- Open the Start Menu.
- Mouse over the bottom right corner of the screen, and click Settings.
- Click the wireless network connection icon and select UARK Wi-Fi.
- Follow the on-screen instructions, and accept security certificates when prompted.
Troubleshooting note: If you are experiencing problems connecting, remove the connection and create a new one. To remove the connection:
- Open the Start menu. Mouse over or swipe in from the upper right corner of the screen, and click Settings.
- Click the Network icon.
- Right-click the wireless network, and click "Forget this network."
To create a new connection, click Add and continue with the steps above starting at step 3.
Windows 7
Before creating your Wi-Fi connection in Windows 7, make sure all Windows updates are installed.
Note: Due to possible issues with Windows 7, users are required to add university wireless networks manually.
Add Wi-Fi Network
- Open the Start menu and click Control Panel.
- Click "Network and Internet." Click "Network and Sharing Center."
- Click "Manage Wireless Networks." Click Add.
- Click "Manually create a network profile," and enter UARK Wi-Fi in the Network name field.
- Select WPA2-Enterprise from the Security type drop-down menu. Click Next.
- Click "Change connection settings." Open the Security tab and click Settings.
- Make sure "Validate server certificate" is checked. Check the "Connect to these servers" box and enter "wifiauth.uark.edu" in the field.
- Check the "AddTrust External CA Root" box under the Trusted Root Certification Authorities.
- Click Configure under "Select Authentication Method." Uncheck the box. Click OK. Click OK again.
- Click Advanced settings. Check the "Specify authentication mode" box. Select User authentication from the drop-down menu.
- Click OK. Click OK. Click Close.
- Click the wireless connection icon in the Windows system tray. Select UARK Wi-Fi, and click Connect.
- Enter your UARK username and password. Click OK.
Troubleshooting note: If you are experiencing problems connecting, remove the connection profile from your device and create a new one. To remove the connection:
- Open the Start menu, and click Control Panel.
- Click "Network and Internet." Click "Network Sharing Center."
- Click "Manage Wireless Networks."
- Highlight the wireless network and right-click.
- Click Remove Network. Click Yes.
To create a new connection, click Add and continue with the steps above starting at step 4.
