
Microsoft Passkey Overview
The University of Arkansas is committed to strengthening cybersecurity and is implementing the use of Microsoft passkeys to protect university data from cyberthreats. All university faculty, staff and students will need to set up a passkey by December 15, 2026, to access Microsoft programs. The IT Help Desk is available to help anyone with questions about passkey setup.
About Passkeys
Passkeys are an authentication method used to securely sign in to online accounts and applications. Passkeys strengthen cybersecurity and reduce the risk of phishing, unauthorized access, and data breaches.
Passkey Instructions
All faculty, staff, and students at the University of Arkansas will be required to set up a passkey. Access these instructions to set up your passkey.

Yubikey Instructions
Faculty, staff, or student employees can use YubiKey as an alternative to Microsoft passkeys. Use these instructions to set up YubiKey for Windows and use these instructions to set up Yubikey for Mac.
