The Student Technology Center (STC) provides students, faculty and staff with access to laptop and equipment checkout services.

Save time on your visit! Please complete the loan agreement online before stopping by the Student Technology Center to check out a laptop or other available equipment.

Laptop Lending

The Student Technology Center offers a free laptop lending program available to all currently enrolled UARK students. Laptops are loaned for up to seven days at a time. If you still need a device after seven days, you may check out a different laptop. Renewals on the same device are not permitted.

Mullins Library Service Desk also offers a short-term laptop lending program for currently enrolled UARK students.

  • Loans are issued in 3-hour periods 
  • Renewals are available if laptops are not in demand. 
  • Laptop checkout service ends 2 hours before the Service Desk closes. 
  • All laptops must be returned before the Service Desk closes that same day.

Identification Requirements

Your physical University of Arkansas ID card is needed to:

  • Check out a computer or other equipment
  • Borrow gaming gear
  • Reserve one of our spaces

Returns

Items should be returned to the staff at the Checkout desk by the front door. Late returns incur one mark per day. Ensure all parts, including cables and cases, are returned on time.

Damaged or Lost Items

You may be charged a repair or replacement fee through your University Account. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at stc@uark.edu. If an item is stolen, contact the STC and file a police report with UAPD immediately.

Special Accommodations

Staff and faculty can submit the special request form for checkouts of laptops for a class or department at least 7 days in advance.

Installed Software

Note: Mac laptops do not currently support Respondus LockDown Browser, but they do have Microsoft Office 365 and some other university-supported software.
