Service Center

Heads up! The Service Center has moved to the Student Technology Center. The previous University of Arkansas Tech Store and Service Center location permanently closed on May 20, 2026.

The Service Center will set up your new device and repair or maintain your old devices. Visit us at the Student Tech Center on the 3rd floor of the Arkansas Union. 

Repairs Under Warranty

Get your device repaired at little or no cost for issues covered under warranty. This includes:
  • Dell devices purchased from the Tech Store or through the UA System contract. Check Dell warranty status.
  • Apple devices owned by the University of Arkansas, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, and Studio that are currently under warranty. Check Apple warranty status. 
Note: Operating system corruption, virus removal, cracks in the screen, and liquid damage are not covered under standard warranties.

Non-Warranty Repairs

Is your Dell or UARK-owned Apple device out of warranty? No problem! Bring your unit in for a diagnostic, and we will provide a repair quote.
  • Diagnostic $49: Diagnose the problem and supply a quote for labor and parts. If the repair is approved, the diagnostic fee is applied to the repair cost.
  • Data Backup & Recovery $39-$149: Back up, recover, or transfer data to a new device or external hard drive up to 500GB.
  • Operating System Reload $99-$129: Clean operating system reload or operating system reload with data back-up.
  • Virus Removal $99: Remove virus and/or malware and reinstall operating system. Data backup not included.
  • Advanced Services $129: Disassemble, install parts, reassemble and test.
Note: Rates are general estimates for labor only. Cost of parts and/or software not included.

New Device Setup

Purchasing the New Device Setup gets your computer up to date and ready for class, excluding college or course-specific applications.

For $49 (plus tax), an authorized technician removes the new computer from the box, runs all operating system, BIOS, and driver updates, loads the campus Microsoft 365 package, and installs Chrome and Firefox.

Dell Warranty Ownership Transfer

Own a Dell computer not purchased from the Tech Store? Transfer the warranty so the Service Center can repair it.
  • Enter "University of Arkansas" in the Company Name field.
  • It may take 7-10 business days for the transfer to complete.
Note: Transferring warranty ownership does not transfer computer ownership, only the warranty contract.
