As part of an ongoing commitment to securing university data, multi-factor authentication was rolled out to all new students for the fall 2021 semester.

About Multi-Factor Authentication

Securing Our Data

Multi-factor authentication provides an additional layer of security that makes it difficult for unauthorized users to access services, applications and data.

UARK accounts can be compromised by phishing scams, automated bots, targeted attacks, etc. Verifying your account with multi-factor is more secure, especially for services that grant access to Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

Is This Required?

Yes. All students are required to use multi-factor authentication as of fall 2021. Faculty, staff and student employees were required to use multi-factor starting in spring 2020.

Once a new UARK account is activated, the user will be prompted to verify the account when logging into online services like Blackboard, UAConnect, Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Teams, etc.), Zoom and more. View a complete list of applications
